The 11th Hsu Sheng-Ming International Little League Championship

The 11th Hsu Sheng-Ming International Little League Championship took place from November 25 to 28, 2023, at the Changhua Yongjing Baseball Field, Yuanlin Softball Field, Baguashan Baseball Field, and Dadu River Baseball Field. This competition, which was previously held in Kaohsiung Meinong, was moved to Changhua Yongjing for the first time. A total of 32 teams participated, including a little league team from Korea, bringing together approximately 600 young players for this event.

The current Chairman of the Hsu Sheng-Ming Baseball Development Association, Ms. Xie Rong-Yao, who is also Coach Hsu’s wife expressed sincere gratitude to all the support and sponsor provided to this year’s Hsu Sheng-Ming International Little League Championship. She thanked everyone for their support and making it possible for the event to be successfully held. The competition had gained reputation in Asia attracting numerous teams to participate. Coach Meng Zhengguo from the little league team of Korea expressed that the young players had been looking forward to this event. He also mentioned that Taiwan's little league standard surpassed that of Korea, and he hoped for more frequent interaction in the future.

Other than the fierce competitions, guests, young players and their family and friends were invited to experience the local Hakka culture in Yongjing, Changhua. Furthermore, a few professional baseball players also shared and trained these young players.

MIZUNO and Aki-Masa Sports Foundation fully support Coach Hsu’s "Meinong Little League Ten-Year Plan" in order to prevent children from going astray.

At the end of the competition, the semifinalists wore commemorative jerseys to in memory of Coach Hsu. Coach Meng was deeply touched by Coach Hsu’s story and truly admired what Coach Hsu did to the grassroots baseball development.

Coach Hsu’s best friend, Coach Zhang Fa-chang, who promised to accompany Ms. Xie to continue this journey, passed away on November 5, 2023 after finalizing all the preparations for this year’s competition. May Coach Zhang rest in peace and guard this vision together with Coach Hsu in heaven.

第11回徐生明国際リトルリーグ大会は、2023年11月25日から28日まで、彰化永靖野球場、員林リーグボール場、八卦山野球場、大肚溪リトルリーグボール場で熱戦が繰り広げられました。今年は大会が初めて高雄美濃から彰化永靖に移り、32のチームが参加し、韓国からは順天南山リトルリーグが含まれ、約600人の小さな選手が一堂に会し、盛大なイベントとなりました。

今年の第11回シュウショウメイ国際少年野球大会は、各界の企業からの大きな協賛とサポートを受け、主催者である奥さん（シエ・ロンヤオ）は深く感謝しています。彼女は、このイベントが順調に開催され、アジア地域で一席を獲得し、多くのチームを引き寄せることができたことに対して、皆さんのサポートに感謝の意を表明しています。韓国の順天南山少年野球チームのコーチ、モン・ジェングクは、小さな選手たちがこのイベントに参加することを楽しみにしており、また、台湾の少年野球のレベルがすでに韓国を超えていると観察し、将来的には頻繁に台湾と交流したいと希望しています。

激しい試合に加えて、シュウショウメイ国際少年野球大会は地元の文化を体験する要素も取り入れており、参加チーム、招待されたVIP、そして応援団が一緒に彰化永靖の成美文化園區に行って客家文化と台湾の伝統的な工芸「羅黏香手作課程」を体験できます。

また、多くのプロ野球選手、例えば張泰山、李凱威、劉時豪なども招待され、交流し、指導し、経験を共有しています。

明正基金会とミズノは、徐總の「美濃少棒十年計劃」を全力でサポートしており、故郷の子供たちが誤った方向に進むのを防ぐのに野球を利用しています。野球を通じて学生にポジティブな教育発展をもたらすことを期待し、徐總の理念を続けて支持するよう各界に呼びかけています。

試合終了時、四強のチームは全て徐總の記念ユニフォームを身にまとって試合に臨みました。韓国のコーチ、孟鎮國氏は、「徐總の物語を知って深い尊敬の念を抱いています。記念ユニフォームを着ることは非常に感動的で、韓国でも似たような儀式があります。徐總が基層に対して尽力してくれたことに心から感謝しています」と述べました。

徐總の親友である張發昌コーチは、徐總が去った後、師母を支えることを誓っていました。しかし、張コーチは今年の11月5日に夢の中で亡くなりました。その日、張コーチは美濃球場の整備作業を通常通りに完了し、感動的で尊敬に値する行為でした。張コーチが天国で徐總と再び最高のバッテリーを組み、これらの夢を守り続けることを願っています。
