The Care Cup is organized by the Taiwan Indigenous Baseball Development Association (TIBDA) and initiated by both active and retired indigenous professional baseball players. This tournament is specifically designed for indigenous children, with at least 70% of each participating team required to be of indigenous descent. The goal is to promote grassroots baseball development in Hualien and Taitung through competition.
The Aki-Masa Foundation, in collaboration with Mizuno Taiwan, proudly supports the Care Cup by providing baseball equipment as prizes, encouraging children from rural areas to bravely pursue their dreams.
This year’s tournament featured 62 teams across three divisions. In the softball little league division, the event welcomed Japan’s Okinawa Maeda Hawks, marking the second consecutive year that a Japanese team was invited for cultural and athletic exchange. The team’s manager,Akinori Nakasone, expressed his hopes that his players would cherish their first overseas experience, learn about Taiwanese culture, and remarked, "Through the recent WBSC Premier12 tournament, the world has witnessed the growing strength of Taiwan's baseball."
During the games, it was observed that Okinawa Maeda Hawks players who were not on the field actively helped organize equipment and tidy up the dugout area. Manager NakasoneAkinori Nakasoneexplained, "A baseball field is a sacred place. If the environment is not well-maintained, players’ performances may also suffer. That’s why I encourage my players to take the initiative in cleaning up and developing good habits." This philosophy highlights the importance of mutual learning between Taiwan and Japan, fostering better baseball cultures in both countries.

関懐杯は中華民国台湾原住民族野球運動発展協会(原棒協)が主催し、現役および引退した原住民プロ野球選手によって発起・組織された大会です。この大会は原住民の子どもたちのために特別に開催されるもので、参加チームは原住民が70%以上を占める必要があります。この大会を通じて、花蓮・台東地域の草の根野球の発展を促進することを目指しています。
明正基金会は台湾ミズノと協力して関懐杯の大会をサポートし、野球用具の賞品を提供することで、地方の子どもたちが夢を追う勇気を持てるよう応援しています。
今大会は3つのカテゴリーに分かれ、合計62チームが参加しました。軟式少棒組（少年ソフトボールの部）には日本の沖縄前田鷹チームが招待されました。これは関懐杯が2年連続で日本のチームを招待したもので、チームの監督である仲宗根章仁氏は「初めての海外遠征の機会を大切にし、台湾の文化をたくさん学んでほしい」と選手に期待を寄せています。また、「プレミア12を通じて、台湾野球がますます強くなっていることが世界に知られるようになった」と述べました。
大会中、沖縄前田鷹が試合を行う際には、出場しない選手が積極的にベンチ周辺の用具や環境を整備している姿が見られました。この文化について仲宗根監督は「野球場は神聖な場所です。環境が整っていなければ、選手のパフォーマンスも良くならないと信じています。そのため、選手たちには自発的に環境を整える習慣を身につけてほしい」と述べています。選手教育の方法は、台湾と日本がお互いに学び合い、両国の野球がさらに発展することにつながると信じています。
