Women's softball in Taiwan has been developing for many years. However, due to its lower visibility, many people are unaware that Taiwan's women's softball team has consistently ranked among the world's top teams and has achieved outstanding results in numerous international competitions. In the 2022 World Games, the team won a bronze medal, elevating Taiwan to third place in the world softball rankings, just behind the United States and Japan.
For this year's U18 Women's Softball World Cup, the Chinese Taipei team first secured its spot by competing in the 2023 Asia Cup (World Cup qualifier). Then, in the 2024 World Cup qualifier group stage, they finished first in Group A, advancing to the top 8 and preparing for the 2025 World Cup Finals. Since this tournament spans three years, many players face age restrictions or other factors that prevent them from participating, leading to continuous roster changes. Given this structure, the national team must undergo ongoing training and adaptation. To enhance player development, the association has integrated U18 national team members into Taiwan’s Women’s Corporate Softball League, allowing young players to gain experience by competing alongside veteran athletes. This opportunity helps them improve both technically and mentally, accelerating their growth and maturity. The goal is to achieve great results in next year's World Cup.
Aki-Masa Foundation and Mizuno recognize the challenges U18 women’s softball faces in terms of resources and visibility. Despite this, they remain committed to ensuring Taiwan continues to shine on the global stage. To support the young athletes, they have jointly sponsored Mizuno apparel and equipment for the U18 team, hoping to cheer them on and help them achieve success in the 2025 World Cup!
台湾の女子ソフトボールは長年にわたり発展してきましたが、注目度が低いため、世界の舞台での台湾女子ソフトボールの優れた成績を知る人は少ないです。台湾はこれまで数多くの国際大会で素晴らしい成果を収めており、特に2022年のワールドゲームズでは銅メダルを獲得し、世界女子ソフトボールランキングでアメリカ、日本に次ぐ第3位に躍進しました。
今回のU18女子ソフトボールワールドカップでは、中華台北代表はまず2023年のアジアカップ（ワールドカップ予選）で出場権を獲得し、2024年のワールドカップ予選グループリーグではグループAの1位となり、ベスト8に進出しました。そして、来年2025年のワールドカップ決勝に向けて準備を進めています。
この大会は3年間にわたるため、多くの選手が年齢制限やその他の理由で出場できなくなり、チームのメンバーは頻繁に入れ替わります。しかし、ルール上、代表チームは継続的に選手を育成し、チームワークを高める必要があります。そのため、協会はU18代表選手を台湾の女子ソフトボール企業リーグに参加させ、実戦経験を積ませています。企業リーグを通じて、若手選手たちは先輩選手から多くを学び、技術的にも精神的にも急成長しており、2025年のワールドカップでは素晴らしい成績を残せることを期待しています。
明正基金会とミズノは、U18女子ソフトボールチームが十分な資源や注目を得られていないことを理解しつつも、台湾のソフトボールが世界の舞台で輝き続けるために、支援を惜しみません。そのため、U18代表チームの選手たちにミズノのウェアや用具を提供し、応援を続けています！
