The Aki-Masa Foundation and Mizuno, in addition to supporting the U12 and U15 LLB teams representing Taiwan in international competitions, have also recognized the growing development of community baseball in Taiwan. This year, the first-ever 113th TLLB CUP U13 Community Baseball Championship was held to provide a platform for more young baseball enthusiasts in local communities to showcase their talents and earn opportunities to represent Taiwan abroad. Aki-Masa Foundation partnered with Mizuno to fully support the representative teams with equipment, not only encouraging the children but also giving them well-deserved recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team that emerged victorious from the 12 community baseball teams and secured the Asia-Pacific regional representation is the \u3010WHB World Baseball League Team\u3011.
(The champion of this tournament earns the right to represent the Asia-Pacific region in the LLB 50\/70 tournament held in Narita, Japan.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduction to the LLB 50\/70 Tournament:
The LLB (Little League Baseball) 50\/70 division features field dimensions that differ from a regulation baseball field. While the regulation field measures 60\/90, in the 50\/70 division, the distance from the pitcher's mound to home plate is 50 feet (approximately 15.24 meters), and the base paths are 70 feet apart (about 21.34 meters). The age range for the teams is 11 to 13, covering the traditional Little League age group (10-12) and Junior League (13-14).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this year's Asia-Pacific LLB 50\/70 tournament, a total of seven teams participated, with Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines in Group A, and China, Korea, Indonesia, and Hong Kong in Group B. The top two teams from each group advanced to the semifinals, with the winner earning the right to represent the Asia-Pacific region in the World Series in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In WHB's first game against the Philippines, the young players, many of whom were competing internationally for the first time, showed signs of nervousness, leading to a tough start. However, as the game progressed, the team adjusted their mindset and demonstrated the results of their training, narrowly winning 4-3 in a historic first victory. The following day, Japan defeated the Philippines, setting the stage for a showdown between Taiwan and Japan for the group\u2019s top spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facing Japan, the young players came out swinging early, but Japan's strong batting lineup turned the game into a slugfest. Both teams traded leads throughout, but Japan\u2019s experience ultimately earned them an 11-10 win, leaving WHB in second place in the group and advancing to the semifinals, where they would face the defending champions, Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the semifinal against Korea, WHB struggled against Korea's strong pitching, and their offense failed to gain momentum. Coupled with pitching restrictions after their game with Japan, WHB couldn\u2019t stop Korea\u2019s offense and lost 0-10, moving into the third-place playoff against Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the bronze medal match against Indonesia, WHB played with no pressure and enjoyed the game. In the bottom of the second inning, they scored 18 runs in one go, securing a commanding lead and ultimately winning 22-0, claiming third place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the WHB players, securing third place in the Asia-Pacific region in their first international tournament is already an incredible achievement, deserving of recognition and praise from everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
