The annual Sun Moon Lake Swimming Carnival is the most historic and large-scale event in Sun Moon Lake. Since its inception in 1983, the event has reached its 42nd edition, attracting countless swimming enthusiasts from Taiwan and around the world. This year\u2019s event took place on September 15, with an impressive turnout of 22,606 swimmers and 1,869 teams from 38 countries, creating a grand spectacle akin to an international water festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the 3-kilometer course from Chaowu Pier to Ita Thao was filled with joy and excitement. The event served as both a competitive stage for swimmers and a celebratory gathering for spectators. This year was particularly special as Mizuno joined forces with the Aki-Masa Foundation to sponsor Mizuno commemorative polo shirts for participants, supporting the event and promoting the spirit of perseverance and sportsmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festivities began at 7 AM with the athletes in the adaptive swimming category leading the way, showcasing their determination to overcome limits and never give up. Taipei's Hsu Tsung-jung completed the course in 1 hour and 16 minutes, becoming the first finisher in the adaptive swimming category and setting a shining example for all participants. In the general category, Yu Hsin-hui claimed first place with a time of 51 minutes, while the top female swimmer, Liao Shang-yi, finished in 1 hour and 15 minutes, demonstrating remarkable speed and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sun Moon Lake Swimming Carnival has become a symbol of unity and challenge, where both swimmers and spectators can experience the true essence of sportsmanship. We look forward to welcoming even more participants in the future to join this world-class water festival!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
